High Rolling Loners

Just been listening to samples from the self titled ep from The High Rolling Loners.

http://www.myspace.com/highrollingloners.

No connection, but listen to the track Mexico, does that or does that not remind you of George Ed Powell, especially i think the track country song.

I like this ep a lot.

Who says country rock is dead.

Hi Roger,

I hope all is well.

Well you had me going for a minute. When I saw the thread title my blood pressure rose quickly, profanities were flying through the air. I was certain one of the degenerate freaking spammers posted some garbage. High Rolling Loners ? I was pleasantly surprised by the post.

The music sounded very good, a real throwback to the "old" days when country/southern rock made it's presence felt. The song you referenced reminded me of George in a different way. George's writing, to me, was emotional yet created a very real sense of imagery, he took you places while telling a tale. An "earthy" type feel to it. George is one great singer/songwriter !

All the best,
Tom

By the way, I heard from George last week. All is well and in the coming months I'll have more on the site re: George.

Hi Tom, all's well though rather wet

As if i'd do that lol

George certainly contributed a lot to those early albums, as you say a great songwriter, but it was more the vocal styling of the singer in the HRL that reminded me of George not the lyrics. I guess no one else agrees with me though.
I'll look forward to hearing what you've got to say on George in the coming months, glad to hear all's well with him.

Cheers and all the best to you also

Rog
