Vince Gill, Ringo, the Grammy's

Postby Tom » Tue Mar 11, 2008 8:27 am

Hi gang,

Most know by now that former PPL'er Vince Gill has won another Grammy , best country album, for his incredible CD These Days. Gill now has 19, the most ever by a country artist.

Gill had some fun when poking a joke at something called a Kanye, who apparently went off earlier in the show, telling all how great he was etc.

Gill was presented the award by Ringo, then quipped "I just got an award presented to me by a Beatle. Have you had that happen yet, Kanye?"

A few years ago, Gill and the man who succeeded him in PPL, Gary Burr, were both inducted into the Nashville Songwriter's Hall Of Fame.

Over the years, Burr has spent much time writing, recording and playing with the man who presented Gill's award, Ringo. Ringo was reported to have commented backstage " I was somewhat struck by Vince's excitement about getting an award from a Beatle. After all, I was the one who was honoring yet another member from Pure Prairie League. "

Have a good one,

"I have seen the future of country music and it's name is Pure Prairie League."
