Complete PPL Discography?

Postby Stalker » Thu Aug 25, 2005 6:50 am

ok folks, some of you know me from the Poco forum. i have discovered PPL's awesome music through my travels around the country seeing PPL with Poco this summer.

Could someone please post a complete list of PPL's albums and the years they were released? i'd like to start collecting them and want to know what all is out there that i will need to buy.

Hi Stalker- I also appear on the Poco forum from time to time. Here is a PPL discography as complete as I know it. Anyone who can add to this is welcomed to do so.
ALBUMS
1.Pure Prairie League 1972
2.Bustin' Out 1972
3.Two Lane Highway 1975 also released in QUAD
4.If The Shoe Fits 1976
5.Dance 1976
6.Live Takin' The Stage 1977
7.Just Fly 1978
8.Can't Hold Back 1979
9. Firin' Up 1980
10.Something In The Night 1981
11.Home On The Range 1983 combines the 1st. and 4th. lps on the Pair Label
12.Pure Prairie Collection 1981 RCA import

Compact Disks
1.Bustin' Out circa RCA 1993
2.Two Lane Haighway RCA 1993
3.If The Shoe Fits RCA ca. 1993
4.Live Takin' The Stage RCA ca 1993
5.Can't Hold Back -One Way Label ?
6.Pure Parie League/If The Shoe Fits Renaissance label 1997
7.Firin' Up Mercury ?
8.Something In The Night Mercury ?
9.Concert Classics Renaissance label 1999
10.Songs of Pure Harmony Pilot label 2001 ( a live recording prior to Two Lane Highway )
11.Amie and Other Hits RCA ( bascially Bustin' Out retitled )
12.Amie The Collection Collectibles label 1998
13.Amie The Encore Collection RCA 1998 ( same as above, different label )
14.Best Of- Mercury 1995 ( includes 4 RCA tracks )
15.Extended versions The Encore Collection RCA 2004 ( 10 songs from the deleted Live Takin' The Stage )
16.Anthology RCA 1998 English Import
17.The Masters Eagle label 1998 Import
18. Greatest Hits RCA 1999 ( covers the 1st. 4 lps and has all tracks from Bustin' Out except Leave My Heart Alone )
19.Mementos 1971-1987 ( a reunion lp recording many songs with 4 new ones )
As you can see the only albums of the original 10 not on cd are Dance and Just Fly. RCA/BMG should release them and reissue the others that have been deleted. Additionally, as I mentioned in a previuos post, John Call told me that he recorded some songs for Just Fly that were not released.

I'll say Harvest. And I recall an annoying split on another lead from The Lizard on If The Shoe Fits- right during Sun Shone Lightly. If I'm right den, please amake it certified and made out to cash. Maybe I'll make it to Chillicothe after all.

Tom you win -your virtual check is in the email-So why wasn't more emphasis put on tunes like Angel#9 or Harvest.i know they may be more rock than country rock but if there was better guitars out of any of those in that genre i never heard them. When i am king PPL will open with Angel#9 and follow with mellow stuff like Love is an illusion and two lane you know easy stuff like that!see you at the Shoemaker

Hey Stalker,
Give it time! Just kidding. This is a great site, too. Poco and PPL kind of fit hand and hand. I'm hoping one day I can catch both of them playing at the same venue in Colorado.
