why the pollution?

Postby billyJvoltare » Mon Jan 08, 2007 7:47 pm

Wow, it had been awhile since I'd checked in on my 'other' favorite country rock band and suddenly it looked like a an old emailbox of mine that I abandoned because it was getting clogged with pornographic spam.
Why would this be happening now...and why PPL?
I hope there's a way to stop this.

I'd guess that it's because Tom hasn't had a chance to get rid of it yet. He's like one of Santa's elves, quietly dumping this garbage before we have to see it.

It sure is amazing how far these spamming people are willing to go. Maybe they have some kind of program that sends things automatically once they have a site on their list.

Thank you Tom for all the work you do!

Hi guys,

Well there are certainly many sicko's out there , but we are still looking into what fixes can be done with this software to prevent certain groups from latching into this site. I've deleted a ton of "members" before they even had a chance to post. Of course some morons get through. The "spambots" all come in groups from the same type sites:one signs up, 20 more follow on their heels.

Sorry that a few got through, do your best to ignore them, don't respond of course.

This forum won't be ruined by them no matter what it takes.

Glad you like it here, thanks, and please continue to check in,I'm still pursuing a few projects to broaden the site and hopefullly will have some new additions soon.

Nice to hear from you again Jimmy, hope all is well. Welcome back from Nashville LI Dog !

All the best,
Tom

LI Dog-

I stay away from this board for a while and I miss the chance to show you some hospitality. It's the least I could do to repay you for all those songs you worked out and posted.

I know Nashville pretty well, live 2hrs due south on I-65. Would have offered you a couch and lots of songwriter's open mic's in my town. I play a few of those and a few paying gigs.

I know it's not Nashville but we do produce 50% of all "American Idols". (Of course, if it weren't for the American Idol show, last year's winner would be hosting Karaoke Night at the Airport Ramada)

keep a brother informed!

Hi Jay,

It hadn't even occured to me how close AL would be to Nashville (I'm lucky I found my way out there in the first place!)

Thanks for the generous offer. I'll definitely touch base before the next trip!

All the Best,
Dog
