Get well Larry Goshorn aka The Lizard

Hi prairie dogs,

Here's wishing former PPL songer/songwriter and guitarist Larry Goshorn a speedy recovery.

Larry recently had a nasty accident, breaking two major bones and tore tendons in his ankle, needing major surgery.A benefit was held and hopefully things will turn around for him.

Known as The Lizard, he was one of the major players in PPL's rise to national prominence. The Lizard joined PPL in 1973 and appeared on the LP's Two Lane Highway, If The Shoe Fits, Dance, Live ! Takin' The Stage and Just Fly. His sizzling guitar and overall musicianship was never more needed than when the band entered the studio in Dec 1974 to record what would become Two Lane Highway. As we all know by now, the LP became a huge success and is one of the most acclaimed country rock recordings ever made. Larry penned the title track and had a hand in writing 4 other tunes on the LP which was PPL's highest charting LP. After it's release it was clear sailing for the band. Many of his tunes are still peformed in concert today, among them Two Lane Highway, Kentucky Moonshine, Harvest and others.

Larry continues to play with brother Tim, another former PPL'er as The Goshorn Brothers either as a duo or full band and are still quite active in the Cincy area. Hopefully his recovery will be swift and the Lizard will be back doing what he does so well, bringing music fans his very special gift of music.

Home at last,
Tom Sheridan
