Good to hear from you Tom. It is a really well crafted cd. Mike, Craig, Curtis, Fats and Rick must be very proud of what they've done here.

Regarding my own personal insanity, I figure the sooner I finish doing charts for this cd the sooner I can enter that 12 step program to deprairie-ize myself... I feel like a guy who's drinking shot after shot at the bar and people are starting to gather around to see how long it's going to take until he falls down!

And yes, the madness continues...

All bets are off with these lyrics. I did a google search for help and actually found a good chart for it, but I'm still not sure he sang all the words exactly like they were printed there. Here's the best I could do.

Have fun figuring out that intro, but you're going to have to tune your low E string down to a D to do it! Come to think of it, I recall there being somewhere else on this cd where I thought I heard a different tuning, but I figured I was just hallucinating again. Meanwhile, they're probably reading this and saying, "You turkey! We did that on EVERY song!"

Submitted for your approval, some chords that you can play without changing your tuning, that are hopefully in the ball park for you.

Hey Dog,
Is everything OK ?

It's been about ten minutes now, and nothing from you. Did you stop to eat or maybe take a nap ?

Hey, I'll get some stuff on here from the PPL songbook. Maybe you can take a breather !! Then again, it doesn't have everything in it.

I'll bet the book doesn't have this!

In honor of Tom and myself, and anyone else who had to shovel snow today... here's a great number that they played on the last tour. Written by Keith Godcheaux and Lowell George, a great Little Feat song that, as Mike had introduced it, "just seemed to fit this group..." I couldn't agree more. Here it is!

Six Feet of Snow

G______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______ ______

G________ D___ G______________ C_______
Six feet of snow coming through my radio
_____________ D________ G______ C_____ D__ G__
It's raining in stilettos from here clear down to Mexico
____________ D_______ G____________ C__________
My hands are numb from hanging on that steering wheel
____________ D__________ G______ C____________ D____ G___________
They're frozen tight hope the wind don't blow me off the road tonight

C_______________D______ G_____ C_____ D________ G___________
Don't you know the ice and snow is comin' in through my window
C________________ D__________ Em__ C_________________________ D___
Don't you know how much I hate to be so cold and so alone... I'm coming home
_____________________________________
If it wasn't for the lines that wind side by side
_______________________________ G______ C______ D______ G______
I'd be lying next to her next to her tonight

D______ ______ G______ C______ ______ ______ D______ ______

G_____ C_____ D______

G________ D____________ G______________ C________
Sweet New Orleans... That's where my girl, she waits for me
_____________ D______________________ G_____ C____ D__ G___________
Hair so gold and eyes so green... She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen

C_______________D______ G_____ C______ D________ G___________
Don't you know the ice and snow are comin' in through my window
C________________ D__________ Em__ C_________________________ D___
Don't you know how much I hate to be so cold and so alone... I'm coming home
_____________________________________
If it wasn't for the lines that wind side by side
_______________________________ G______ C______ D______ G______
I'd be lying next to her next to her tonight

D______ ______ G______ C______ ______ ______ D______ ______

They also did this practically unknown Vince Gill classic on the last tour. Curtis sang it, and they did it really well. This would be nice to have a version of if they do a live album.

I still can't figure out if it's "I'm 'bout to ride", or "I'm bound to ride". But I'm sure whichever one I choose will be the wrong one! Oh well. Can't win 'em all. But this song's definitely a winner anyway.

There's a cool post over in the regular Pure Prairie League area that Tom had made last summer; an interview that Mike and Craig had done.

I thought this little section at the end was cool to look back on, now that we have the new cd:

"...Pure Prairie League is concentrating on finishing a new album, its first since 1987 (and yes, the old cowboy will be on the cover).

"It's going to be an overt attempt to sound like the first two records," Fuller says. "It'll be sparse, pretty simplified arrangements, with a lot of harmony." "

They sure did deliver the goods, didn't they?

Well, it's July 8th, and I've posted the last of the PPL catalogue. Time to head out on that lonely desert trail!

I just wanted to plug the new cd once more. It's a great album, and the band has been great on tour. Tell everyone you know!

Hope you've enjoyed the charts and lyrics. Drop me a line sometime!

Best,
Dog
