Edwardville, Wildey Theatre

The theatre had a grand reopening and it was PPL who brought the house down. Last year, PPL opened the Katherine Hepburn Theatre in Ct to rave reviews and another sell out crowd. These theatres know who to go to to get things off on the right foot. They'll be back at Hepburns this year and no doubt back at Wildey after the success of this show.

In a league of their own
Band still rockin' it more than 40 years later

EDWARDSVILLE — With songs such as "Two Lane Highway" and the anthem-like "Amie," country-rock band Pure Prairie League sold out the Wildey Theatre in 48 hours, clearly still going strong more than four decades after its formation.
Edwardsville Parks Director Bob Pfeiffer was ecstatic that Pure Prairie League was booked to open the venue and sold it out in two days, a great way to start things off.

" PPL was on fire, plain and simple. What a great way to open this venue, an extremely talented bunch who defy their age with a set of music that brought the sold out crowd to it's feet several times.Bring them back ! " Len Dennison
"I have seen the future of country music and it's name is Pure Prairie League."
